statement
As a member of the Highland Park Artists' Collective I am pleased to offer my artwork in support of Haiti's recovery. "Sondra" is a digital print of a pencil study drawn from a live model at School of Visual Arts. It is also currently on exhibit at Lotus Studios in Highland Park, NJ.
about the artist
I am a fine artist, illustrator and graphic designer, having studied and taught at the School of Visual Arts in NYC and Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ. In addition to running a graphic design studio and continuing to explore and exhibit my artwork, I am pursuing a Master's Degree in Art and the Creative Therapies.
My background as a dance major at Rutgers College also informs much of my work as I continue to study the interplay between anatomy, movement and the fluidity of composition and line.
Some of my current works focus on these graceful lines of traditional figure drawing. I seek to reveal the fundamental beauty of a pose, or perhaps show an unexpected, lyrical exchange between artist and model that often comes alive with only pencil, ink and paper.
