About this Course

The Studio Classes teaches the fundamentals of visual arts through a specific medium then utilizes these skills for powerful storytelling. The Building Blocks Youth Arts Series includes 12 weeks of classes that provide not only skills development focusing on art making (Fall season) and a solid studio arts practice (Spring season) but an opportunity for creative expression within a fun, welcoming group environment that respects different learning styles and encourages experimentation.

Students ages 12-17 will learn the basics of Drawing, Painting and Mixed Media plus the keys for developing rich compositions that tell engaging stories, which authentically express their vision and voice. Sessions meet in two cohorts for students ages 12 – 14 and ages 15 – 17.
