About This Offering

Full Cycles is a custom Creative Aging Series invites older adults to explore personal narratives and shared histories through the arts. Structured around the seasons, this offering nurtures emotional well-being, cognitive engagement, and meaningful connection, honoring each participant as a lifelong learner and creative contributor.

Grounded in over two decades of experience in community arts outreach and university sponsored arts education workshops for senior engagement, this program integrates visual arts, music, and literature to explore themes of memory, culture, and identity. Each season introduces a unique artistic focus, mirroring the rhythms of the year and celebrating the depth and diversity of lived experience.

DETAILS

Here are the basics of the Creating Aging Series



A 1-3 month, seasonal Creative Aging series designed for group delivery in senior living communities, medical settings, or academic environments.

Each session runs 60 – 120 minutes and includes hands-on art-making, guided discussion, and interdisciplinary exploration.

Duration: 4 weeks minimum for full series
Audience: Older adults seeking meaningful, culturally rich creative experiences
Location: Venue meeting room or virtual conferencing

Each series can be tailored in partnership with a teaching artist, ensuring a personalized and impactful experience for every group.

The venues where the program is delivered are the following



Workshop sessions are conducted at senior centers, universities, libraries, and hospitals.

Note: Activity coordinators, wellness directors, or care professionals are welcomed to reach out and bring this enriching program to your community.

Minimal setup needed



For In-Person Sessions:

Furniture & Layout

Tables: Sufficient, sturdy, and clean work tables for participants to comfortably create.
Chairs: Comfortable and appropriately sized seating for all participants (plus a few extras).
Accessible Setup: Tables and seating arranged to accommodate mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs).

Technology

Smart Screen or Projector: For sharing visuals, slideshows, videos, or digital demos.
HDMI or USB Access: To connect a laptop to the screen/projector.
Speakers (if needed): For audio playback in videos or presentations.
Power Outlets: Near the setup for charging a laptop or powering additional equipment.

Facilities

Access to a sink with running water: For washing brushes, hands, or light cleanup.
Trash & Recycling Bins: Easily accessible for disposing of used materials and packaging.

For Virtual Sessions:

Room Setup & Technology, Smart Screen or Large, Monitor, Speakers or Audio System, Computer or Laptop with Zoom Installed, Reliable Wi-Fi or wired access to internet

Tables & Chairs, Good Lighting, Trash & Recycling Bins

Room Tech Assistant or Staff Member

Material kits can be shipped in advance for remote participants.
