In response to a poem by Audre Lorde titled, ‘A Litany for Survival’, this piece represents a medicine as we navigate through a system bent on our demise. As our good sister reminds us, ‘we were never meant to survive’.
DETAILS
This linocut print is made up of 4 layers that I pull by hand. The first layer is a wheel spinning effortlessly in the background, indicating 4 directions, as a ritual, routine or habit. The second layer includes several fragile buds, golden with promise . The third layer invites us back into the garden where we belong with thick leaves dancing. The fourth layer is a drop of water that holds a reflection of the Adinkra symbol ‘Aya’, which is the fern plant signifying endurance, independence, defiance against difficulties, hardiness, perseverance, resourcefulness. When we remember who we really are, which is a component of a vast Universe, we realize that chains can’t bind us truly as we manifest as all Life manifests. ♥

Collecting
Each print will be matted with 100% cotton museum quality board and shipped via 2 Day Priority Mail.
